There
is nothing
more precious than human life. Regardless of the place or time,
it has always been an undeniable fact that human life carries with
it a meaning of vlaue and dignity. Our Shindo Jinen Ryu Karate-Jutsu
was founded on the basis of this philosphy. Bearing this is mind,
we should put into practice the belief that our Karate be used as
a means to enhance human welfare, not just for Karate itself. The
guiding principle of Ryobu-Kai is centered on the relaization of
this belief through severe training with a sincere mind. This is
our attitude in search of ideal Karate.
JAPAN
KARATE-DO RYOBU-KAI (JKR) is a professional, international
organization under the leadership of Yasuhiro (Takehiro) Konishi,
10th Dan. JKR
has branches located all over the world under the guidance of Kiyoshi
Yamazaki, 8th Dan, International Director and Chief Overseas
Instructor. The style of Karate taught by JKR
is called Shindo Jinen Ryu. Training in JKR is conducted in a traditional
Japanese method: etiquette, consistent attendance, discipline and
hard work, combined with a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere in
the Dojo. Karate training in JKR
is life-long, and can be continued regardless of age.
Modern
training in JKR
incorporates elements of Karate, Aikido, Ju-Jitsu, and Kendo in
the formal curriculum, with an emphasis on philosophy and education.
The curriculum also emphasizes Zanshin (the ability of an exponent
to gain dominance over an opponent through an alert state of mind)
and maintenance of proper physical posture. The
purpose of training in Shindo Jinen Ryu Karate-Do is to develop
the whole human being, physically and mentally. Through long-term
dedicated training the student learns to develop and unite Shin
(mind), Gi (technique) and Tai (body) in proper proportions. The
end result is awareness of one's moral obligations and place in
society.
